A syringe is made up of three key components, the barrel, the plunger, and the tip. The barrel is the main body of the syringe and is where the fluid is held, it tapers to one end towards the tip. The plunger is a rod with a cone-shaped head to allow it to fit snugly in the barrel. The tip provides a point of attachment for a needle, should one be required.
